The best self storage places Mr Removals recommends

While most of the work we do involves moving your belongings from your old home to your new one there are instances where you might want to store your belongings for a while. It may be that you're having building work done, are in between homes or maybe you just want to declutter and create some space around your house while making sure that your belongings are stored safely somewhere. We are able to help with storage for as little as £25 per week and will pick up anywhere in the Greater London and Surrey areas, store your belongings at our warehouse in New Malden and deliver them back to you when you need them back. We can also advise on the space needed to store your items and book you for the right storage feet so you only pay for the space you need.

There will be, however, instances where you may not want to avail yourself of the opportunity to use our storage service (lack of access to your items while in storage may be one), in which case here are a 10 of my recommended self storage place in the areas I cover (New Malden, Kingston, Wimbledon, South West London, Thames Ditton, Richmond, Surrey). I've personally been to all these facilities and found the staff to be pleasant and the access and loading areas to be great for big vans.

1. Simply Storage New Malden

This is my favourite storage self storage place for many reason. It's the closest to our warehouse and is open for 12 hours during weekdays (the longest of any storage place I've ever seen). It's also a short 10 minute walk from the New Malden Station and the High Street. It also has a big enough loading bay that can easily fit 3 vehicles side by side.

2. Big Yellow Self Storage New Malden

Conveniently located just off the Malden junction of the A3, this branch of Big Yellow self storage is easy to reach by car (15 minutes to junction 10 of the M25 and 30 minutes to Central London) and a short 10 minutes walk from New Malden station and is serviced by a lot of London bus routes - 131, 152, 265, 213, K5). It also offers flexible office solutions.

3. Access Storage Norbiton

It's literally less than 100 metres from the Norbiton station so if this is your daily commute station it's ideal for you. It would be ideal for people who work at the Kingston Hospital, the Coombe Estate and Norbiton. It also has a plethora of London bus routes just outside (57, 213, 85, K3, K2). Kingston station and town centre are also a short 10 minutes walk.

4. Shurgard Self Storage Epsom

Epsom surprisingly doesn't have a lot of variety when it comes to self storage outlets but I prefer Shurgard to the other one as it opens 7 days a week and has good access in and out of the facility and is right next to the Ewell Bypass. Ewell and Epsom stations are both about 10 to 15 minutes walk and London bus 408 from Kingston stops right outside.

5. Big Yellow Self Storage South Wimbledon

This one is less than 10 minutes walk from the South Wimbledon tube station on the Northern Line

6. Big Yellow Self Storage Surbiton

7. Access Storage Byfleet

8. Shurgard Self Storage Hanworth

9. Alligator Self Storage Farnham

10. Shurgard Self Storage Surbiton
